“Give It A Try” Rugby Programme Launches for Girls in Knocknacarra
A fun and inclusive new initiative is coming to Knocknacarra this May as Galway Bay Rugby Club launches its “Give It A Try” rugby programme for girls. This eight-week course, designed specifically for girls aged 8 to 14, will teach the basics of rugby in a safe and enjoyable environment.
The programme kicks off on Thursday, May 8th, and will run weekly from 6 PM to 7 PM at McGrath’s Field in Knocknacarra. With an emphasis on enjoyment, skill-building, and confidence, “Give It A Try” is the perfect entry point for girls looking to get involved in the sport — whether they’re complete beginners or just want to try something new with their friends.
For a one-time cost of just €10, participants will receive coaching over the full eight weeks, led by enthusiastic volunteers and experienced staff. The sessions promise plenty of games, laughter, and a warm welcome for everyone who gets involved.
Registration is now open via https://tinyurl.com/GIAT2025, and interested families are encouraged to sign up early to secure their spot.
