Galway Bay RFC Girls Only Fixtures – January to March 2026

Galway Bay RFC’s Girls Only programme continues to go from strength to strength, with an exciting and varied schedule lined up for the opening months of 2026.

The programme provides a fun, welcoming and supportive environment for girls to learn rugby skills, build confidence and enjoy the social side of the club, with a strong mix of training, festivals and match play.


January

The year gets continues with a return to training:

  • Saturday, 31 January – Training
    McGraths Field

 

February

February includes a Connacht festival, regular training and a home fixture:

  • Saturday, 7 February – Connacht U10 Festival
    Ballinasloe
  • Saturday, 14 February – Training
    McGraths Field
  • Saturday, 21 February – Training
    McGraths Field
  • Saturday, 28 February – Match vs Westport
    St. Mary’s

 

March

March is a busy and exciting month, featuring a home blitz, provincial festivals and the club’s participation in the St Patrick’s Day Parade:

  • Saturday, 7 March – Home Blitz vs Ballina
    St. Mary’s
  • Saturday, 14 March – Training
    McGraths Field
  • Tuesday, 17 March – St Patrick’s Day Parade
    Galway City
  • Saturday, 21 March – Connacht Aviva Girls Only Festival

What’s Coming Next

There will also hopefully be an announcement very soon regarding an eight-week Girls Rugby programme in Galway, aimed at introducing more girls to the game in a fun, structured and supportive setting. Further details will be shared once confirmed.

Important Information for Parents & Players

  • Training sessions take place at McGraths Field unless stated otherwise.
  • Match and festival details, including meeting times and squad information, will be shared by coaches ahead of each event.
  • The Girls Only programme is open to new players, with no prior rugby experience required.

It promises to be a brilliant start to the year for the Galway Bay RFC Girls Only group, with plenty of rugby, fun and memorable days ahead.
